Stigma 101 – Addressing and Responding to a Universal Barrier to Mental Health and Substance Use Treatment – 1.0 CE

10:00 am - 11:00 am
Research has shown stigma to be one of the most common and self-reinforcing barriers to engaging in mental health services and substance use treatment. More than half of people with mental health conditions do not seek or receive services due to fear of being treated differently or a possibility of negative consequence such as losing a job or custody of children.

During this training participants will learn about the multiple forms of stigma, discuss the harmful effects of stigma and discrimination, and learn steps they can take to address stigma in their community and workplace.
