Trauma-Informed Practice: Implementing an Understanding of Trauma to Support Appalachian Clients

10:00 am - 11:00 am
A comprehensive understanding of trauma and the implementation of trauma-informed practice is instrumental in supporting youth and adults in behavioral health settings. Trauma is proven to put individuals at increased risk for developing behavioral health conditions and experiencing negative health consequences. Inversely, trauma-informed care is an evidence based practice that assumes individuals have experienced trauma and that our services and settings should be trauma responsive.
This training will offer practitioners insight into how they can make their services safer and more effective through a comprehensive understanding of the multiple forms of trauma, understanding the impact of trauma, and methods for developing trauma responsive practices.
