Introduction
Substance Use affects client/patient outcomes and can be the elephant in the room, which causes resistance or non-compliance affecting overall health and wellbeing. The Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) encourages honest and outright conversations about stigmatized topics and can lead to a positive therapeutic relationship opening a gateway to treatment.- • Understanding substance use disorders/substance use behavior

- • Skills, techniques, and tools to meet individuals where they are
- • Helping families and individuals finding motivation to change

Approved Contact Hours: This training meets the West Virginia State Home Visiting Requirement for Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Training Certification, but may not contain information needed for an out of state certification.
